This blocker is designed specifically for blocking just YouTube ads so I wouldn't no longer use Chrome for anything else but YouTube as it does nothing for instance torrent sites. Guys, after much trial and error below is the only solution that worked for me - you need to essentially install both Chrome and Firefox browses for different purposes:Ĭhrome: search on google for FadBlock extension - it's available for both Chrome and Firefox but only works well on Chrome to block YouTube ads currently - you need to remove ALL other ad blockers already installed as it will clash with the others. So after they have frustrated the majority of the users into A) paying to YT premium, or B) just accepting that ads can't be easily removed, Google will remove ad blocker addons from the Chrome store. Eventually they will realize they can't win the battle. Of course the Google developers are running uBlock to test the changes. Can you imagine the frustration at Google when they implement a change, and then hours later uBlock circumvents it! It's kind of crazy and funny to think about. YouTube is massive and I don't know how big of a change it is, but it's probably not a trivial task. Google has more resources and employees than any adblocker developer, and they must be furiously doing everything they can behind the scenes reprograming things, then implementing those changes. For example it wasn't working for me this morning, came back hours later, refreshed the filters, and now it's working. I think uBlock is trying their best to stay up to speed.
